Assembling the Map

You return to the Celestial Citadel with all six fragments. Zariel takes them from you and places them on the altar where the Corruptor's avatar was destroyed. The fragments pulse with void-light, then slowly... they merge. They form a map - not a physical map, but a vision. You see the Abyssal Rift: a wound in the sky above the Citadel, a tear in reality that leads down, down, down through six layers of existence. "The rift has always been there," Zariel says. "We sealed it after the Fallen One was cast out. But the seal is weakening. The fragments you collected are the key to opening it - and closing it behind you. Once you enter, there is no return until you reach the bottom. Or die trying."
