Wiki — Accessibility
Aetheria includes accessibility features to ensure the game is playable for everyone, regardless of visual, motor, or sensory differences.
Color-Blind Mode
- Toggle color-blind mode in the Options panel under the Accessibility tab.
- Uses SVG daltonization filters to adjust colors for protanopia, deuteranopia, and tritanopia.
- Affects the game canvas, UI panels, and health/mana bars.
- Rarity colors (white/blue/yellow/orange) are adjusted for better differentiation.
Font Scaling
- Adjust font size in the Options panel under the Accessibility tab.
- Slider ranges from 80% to 150% of the default font size.
- Affects all UI text: chat, panels, tooltips, quest text, and NPC dialogue.
- Does not affect in-world text (damage numbers, names) to prevent overlap.
Reduced Motion
- Toggle reduced motion in the Options panel under the Accessibility tab.
- Disables CSS animations and transitions on UI panels.
- Disables walk animation (player and creatures appear static when moving).
- Magic effects and combat animations are preserved (gameplay-critical).
Other Features
- Remappable keybinds: Customize keyboard shortcuts in the Options panel.
- Screen-reader support: UI elements include ARIA labels where applicable.
- High contrast: UI panels use high-contrast color schemes by default.
- Click-to-walk: Mouse-only navigation is fully supported — no keyboard required for movement.
Playing Without the Full Client
- Second Screen — the portal Command Center and pocket mode let you manage expeditions, mail, and market from a phone or screen reader-friendly page, no canvas or real-time input required.
- Expeditions — server-authoritative idle hunting that needs no moment-to-moment control.
