Wiki — Market & Grand Exchange
The player-driven market allows buying and selling items with other players. Create offers, browse listings, and let the Forge Coffer manage the economy.
How It Works
- Sell Offers: List an item for sale at your chosen price. Other players can browse and buy instantly.
- Buy Offers: Place a buy order for an item at your chosen price. When a seller lists at or below your offer, it auto-matches.
- Auto-Matching: When a new buy offer's price meets or exceeds an existing sell offer (or vice versa), the trade executes immediately at the earlier offer's price.
- Partial Fills: Large orders can fill partially — remaining quantities stay listed.
- Containers: You can sell a container (e.g. a backpack of runes) as a single offer with its contents intact.
Transaction Tax
A 2% tax is applied to every completed market transaction. This tax is not destroyed — it flows into the Forge Coffer, which uses the gold to automatically purchase and destroy oversupplied items, controlling inflation.
Forge Coffer
The Forge Coffer keeps the economy in equilibrium. It uses tax revenue to auto-buy eligible items from sell offers and retires them, removing excess supply from the game.

Market Maker NPCs
Market Maker NPCs sell essential items (potions, runes, basic gear) at fair prices, ensuring the economy has a baseline supply even when player offers are scarce.
Price Guide
Completed trades are recorded and used to compute recent average prices. Check the in-game price guide before listing.
Price Alerts (Market Watchlist)
Set price alerts on items and the server watches the market for you. Alerts are evaluated continuously while you're online and fire when a threshold is crossed.
- "Below" rules fire when the cheapest sell offer drops to your price or under — perfect for sniping deals.
- "Above" rules fire when the highest buy offer reaches your price or over — know when it's time to sell.
- Alerts arrive as a toast with an alert chime; each rule can fire at most once per hour.
- Up to 20 rules per character. Rules are saved server-side and work from both the web and native clients.
- Offers on items in warden demand are flagged with a demand badge — see the Economy page for the Warden Demand Index.
Offer Limits
- Offers expire after 30 days if unfilled.
- Maximum 100 active offers per player.
- Premium account required to create market offers.
