The Hollow Victory

You stand in the Celestial Citadel, the Corruptor's avatar destroyed, the Seal of Binding cracked in your hand. The celestials cheer. But something is wrong. The corruption hasn't receded. The land is still sick. The rats are still fleeing. And Archangel Zariel... she isn't celebrating. She stands at the edge of the citadel, staring down at the world below, and when you approach, you see tears on her face. "It was a projection," she says quietly. "An avatar. A shadow of the real thing. The Corruptor's true form is in the Heart of the Void, far below the world. What you destroyed was... a finger. A fingertip. The hand is still there. The body is still there. And it knows your face now, mortal. It knows you." She turns to you. "I need to tell you everything. But not here. Come with me."
