Weapon Merchant Drak
Greeting
"Drak's Weapons. Endgame gear for endgame warriors."
Dialogue Topics
Town
A demon-hunting outpost on the volcano's slopes. The deepest caverns hold the Dragon Lord's lair, sealed since the Celestial War. Everyone here is a fighter -- there's no room for anything else.
Stock
Arms and armor -- scorched stock, proven edge.
Market
Demon-forged weapons, volcanic steel, and rare gems from the deep caverns. The volcano is our home and our enemy -- it gives us steel and it gives us demons. We take both.
Goods
Blades blackened in demon-fire. The scorch marks are complimentary.
Threat
Demons serve the Corruptor. Demon Overlord Azgaroth attempts to cross through a partially-opened gate. And the Dragon Lord Pyraxis, sealed since the Celestial War, is the Corruptor's vanguard -- stirring in his volcanic prison.
Government
Demon Hunter Kara is the de facto leader. This town is under constant martial law -- when demons watch from the ash, there's no room for councils or debate.
Corruption
The demons aren't just attacking -- they're converting. The demon gate is partially open, and Azgaroth pours corruption through it. The Dragon Lord's seal is cracking. When it breaks, the Celestial War resumes here.
Faction
The Ashen Order -- war, sacrifice, and the fight against darkness. The Grove thinks nature will save us. It won't. Fire saves. Steel saves. Nothing else does.
Cinder Beasts
The cinder beasts are the volcano's spawn -- creatures of living fire and ash. They've always been here, but the Corruptor's influence has made them more aggressive. Demon Hunter Kara says they're drawn to the demon gate's energy. The gate is partially open, and the cinder beasts are what leaks through. Each one is a piece of the demon realm, burning in our world.
Ash Wraiths
The ash wraiths are the spirits of demon hunters who fell in the volcano -- Kara's predecessors, warriors who fought the demons and lost. The Corruptor's fire has given them form. They drift through the volcanic caverns, burning with eternal flame and eternal rage. Kara says they're not evil -- just in pain. Endless, burning pain. She puts them down when she can. It's the closest thing to mercy they'll ever get.
The Volcanic Horror
The volcanic horror is something else -- not a demon, not a spirit, but a manifestation of the volcano's rage, given form by the Corruptor. It's massive, it's angry, and it throws lava. Demon Hunter Kara says it's been sleeping for centuries. The demon gate's opening woke it up. She says if we can't kill it, it'll erupt through the volcano's side and bury Ashenmoor in fire.
Cinder Drakes
The cinder drakes are the Dragon Lord Pyraxis's lesser kin -- small dragons, if you can call them that, that nest in the volcanic caverns. They breathe fire and they're fast. The Dragon Lord has been sealed since the Celestial War, but his influence still reaches through the rock. The cinder drakes are his brood, waiting for him to wake. Demon Hunter Kara says killing them is a mercy -- they're in pain, born in fire, living in fire. But she kills them anyway, because they'll burn the town if she doesn't.
The Void-Touched Knight
The void-touched knight is something new -- and something that shouldn't be here. It's not a demon. It's not from the volcano. It's from the void. The same void that the Corruptor came from. Kara says it appeared after the last demon gate surge, walking out of a crack in reality. It carries a blade of void energy and it kills everything it sees. She doesn't know what it is. She says that scares her more than anything the demons have thrown at us.
The Shadow Dragon
The shadow dragon circles the deepest caverns at night -- a great beast of darkness, not fire. It's not from the volcano. It's from the void, like the void-touched knight. Kara says it's been getting bolder, flying closer to the surface. She thinks it's looking for something. Or waiting for something. The Dragon Lord's seal, maybe. Or the demon gate. Or both.
Void Champions and Void Fiends
The void champions and void fiends are the Corruptor's elite -- not demons, not undead, but creatures of pure void. They appeared after the demon gate surged open. Kara says they're not coming through the gate -- they're coming through cracks in reality itself. The Corruptor's influence is thinning the barrier between the world and the void. If it breaks, what comes through will make the demons look like rats.
