Ice Warden Thorne
Greeting
"The ice demands strength. I train guardians to stand firm against the blizzard's wrath."
Dialogue Topics
Town
An arctic outpost founded by explorers who found crystal deposits on the ice shelf. An ancient ward was already here -- placed over a Yeti sealed since the First Age.
Threat
The ancient ward is failing. Frost Giants emerge from the glacier, driven upward by what lies below. And the Yeti stirs in the deepest ice -- if the ward breaks, it will be free.
Government
Elder Frostborn leads the longhouse council. The Ice Warden commands the guards. Small, tight-knit -- everyone knows everyone, and everyone fights when the ice cracks.
Market
Crystal mining and ice fishing. The Frostbound Remnants -- pieces of the ancient ward -- are our most valuable export. They carry protective magic, though they're crumbling.
Corruption
The ward was placed in the First Age to seal the Yeti. The Corruptor's awakening is weakening it. The Frost Giants aren't invading -- they're fleeing from something deeper in the ice. Something the Yeti is afraid of.
Faction
The Frostbound -- survival, the ancient ward, and the ice. We don't care about the Crown or the Syndicate. We care about the ward. If it falls, the Yeti falls, and then... we all fall.
Frost Wolf Packs
The frost wolves have always hunted the ice shelf. But the pack leaders -- the frost wolf alphas -- they're new. Bigger, smarter, and their breath freezes solid. Elder Frostborn says the alphas appeared when the ancient ward started cracking. The ward was placed over a Yeti, sealed since the First Age. The wolves are its influence, leaking out.
Ice Elementals
The ice elementals are not natural. They're manifestations of the ward's failing energy -- given form by the Corruptor's touch. They rise from the glacier itself, attacking anything warm. The Ice Warden says they're getting more numerous every month. When the ward finally breaks, the glacier itself might come alive.
The Glacier Beast
The glacier beast is something else entirely. A creature of living ice, as old as the glacier itself. It was dormant, frozen deep in the ice. The ward's cracking has woken it. Elder Frostborn says it's not corrupted -- it's just hungry. And it's been hungry for a very long time.
The Frozen Ones
The frozen ones are the explorers who discovered the glacier -- the first settlers of Glacier Bay. They found the ward, touched it, and were frozen solid. For centuries they stood as ice statues, a warning. Now the ward is failing, and they're thawing. But they're not alive. They're not dead either. They're something in between, and they're angry.
The Permafrost Golem
The permafrost golem is the ward's guardian -- or it was. Created by whoever placed the ward to protect it. The corruption has turned it against the ward itself. It's trying to break the ward from the inside. If it succeeds, the Yeti wakes. And the Yeti was sealed for a reason.
