Playing Together: Multiplayer Guide
Aetheria rewards company. This guide covers every way to hunt, trade, and coordinate with other players — from a two-person party to a full guild war.
Parties: The Core of Group Play
- Invite a nearby player to form a party; they can accept or decline.
- The leader can toggle Shared XP — kill XP is distributed among members in range, each modified by their own Animus Mastery and marriage bonuses.
- Every party gets a private chat channel automatically.
- Party positions broadcast about once per second: members appear as dots on your minimap, even across floors.
- Party members cannot attack each other on PvP worlds.
Spectating
- Right-click a party member in the battle list and choose Spectate to watch through their eyes.
- You see their full viewport — map, creatures, combat, speech — but never their private windows (inventory, mail, market, dialogs).
- Spectating is read-only: you can chat and inspect, but not move, fight, or trade.
- The target always sees the names of everyone watching. Sessions end on logout.
Finding People to Play With
- Team Finder — post or browse LFG listings by activity type and level range.
- Taskboard — take on community-posted tasks for gold held in escrow.
- VIP List — track friends' online status and organize them into groups.
- Live Map Share — opt in to show your position on the portal's live world map so friends can find you.
Guilds
- Create a guild, manage three ranks (Member, Vice-Leader, Leader), and set a MOTD.
- Guild Wars — declare war on rivals; first to the kill cap wins.
- Guild Trials — weekly competition for Trial Points and the Aetherian Crown.
- Faction Allegiance — the leader can align the guild with one of the 10 factions.
Trading & Commerce
- Player Trading — face-to-face secure trades.
- Market / Grand Exchange — asynchronous offers with auto-matching and a 2% Forge Coffer tax.
- Price alerts — up to 20 watchlist rules that toast you when prices cross your threshold.
- Mail — send items and gold to offline players.
Group Content
- Group Activities — dungeons and encounters designed for parties, with mechanics that can't be soloed.
- Soulpit Arena — race-based arena fights feeding Animus Mastery.
- Guild Trials & Event Standings — compete on live leaderboards during scoring events.

Hidden Tip: The Efficient Duo
A married couple in the same party stacks bonuses: +10% XP from marriage (within 8 squares), shared XP, and each member's own Animus Mastery tier — up to +20% more. Add the daily boosted creature and a Double XP event, and a two-person hunt can out-earn a solo session by a wide margin.
